Benson Paramhar Ali- Secretary/communications Manager

Paramhar Benson Ali (popularly known as Param) is an Alumna of The American University of Nigeria (AUN), where she bagged a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Multimedia. She majored in Advertising and had a minor in Journalism.
In the course of her studies, she has participated in several, volunteer/community service activities and work-studies, both public and private, with related and non-related performances in line with her course of studies. This has availed her with several vast experiences.
While in school, she interned under Office of Communications and Public Relations where she covered news reports/stories on lifestyle and entertainment around the university campus and edited the weekly activities magazine of the school, among other things.

She also interned with Communications and Multimedia Design Department of AUN where she conducted interviews for the department’s website publication. She also took photographs and created contents for publications and weekly reports.

Param worked as a Press Officer during her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) with the Governor’s Office Calabar, Cross River State Nigeria, where she covered news reports around Cross River State, assisted with writing and editing of Press Release/News reports, responded to request for information from the media, and transcribed News reports for publications.
Param is very passionate about outreach activities and give back projects. Some of the major volunteer/community service activities she engaged in includes;
  • Feed and Read Program Tutor; The feed and read program was an avenue that provided a meal a day, in addition to education in Basic English, Mathematics, hygiene and social skills to Almajirai children in the community of Yola.(“Almajirai is a system of Islamic schooling practiced in Northern Nigeria that requires kids from the ages of 4 to 17, be sent down to a different state or community to learn under an Islamic scholar”).
  • Adult Literacy Tutor; Teaching community women Basic English Language and Communications at Rumde Jabbi Community, Yola.
  • STEM Wizkid Program Tutor (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) under the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness AUN; Mentored the Doubelli Girls Secondary School students, in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics using Information Technology (IT) for the achievement of the goals of STEMWizkid Program.
Waste to Wealth Program Volunteer
Param has volunteered her time and services towards the Waste to Wealth project, with the aim of cleaning the environment and getting rid of non-biodegradable items such as; plastics and nylon and recycling them into usable products, like bags, rugs, key holders, etc. thereby creating wealth.
Karatu Library Foundation(Volunteer)
The Karatu Library is a free private all age support Library that encourages the reading culture of the people of the community. Param has volunteeredher time severallyin reading to the kids thereby impacting knowledge on them. She also assisted with cataloging the books in the library
